Ollie Coach, Pippa Durrant, doing extraordinary things
Review for Pippa Durrant
It gives me great pleasure to write these few lines about Pippa. Pippa is deeply passionate about helping children and teenagers manage their emotions and behaviour. In the context of my work as a consultant in paediatric gastroenterology at the Candover Clinic, Basingstoke, and as an Associate Professor, I have frequently observed the intricate connection between the mind, gut, and physical symptoms. Children are not simply smaller versions of adults; they are growing and developing in an increasingly complex world. As a result, it is far more common than we realise for them to experience anxiety, stress, phobias, low self-esteem, fear, anger, challenging behaviour, high sensitivity, and sensory processing difficulties. These challenges often manifest as physical symptoms, particularly those related to the gut.
Pippa has an excellent understanding of these principles and works with children and their families in comfortable, supportive environments. She is highly skilled at identifying the underlying issues, which are not always easy to pinpoint, and her approach is far from a simple box-ticking exercise. I am incredibly grateful to Pippa for the invaluable help she has provided to the children I have referred to her. Each of them has benefited significantly from her expertise, and I frequently observe a reduction in the need for medical treatments as a direct result of her input.
What I particularly appreciate about Pippa’s approach is that no challenge is too small or too great for her, and she works in a non-pressured, calm manner—much like how I prefer to work. Pippa actively encourages families to enquire about her services before committing to any sessions, ensuring that they feel confident in the support she can offer. I cannot recommend Pippa highly enough.
